The Copy Disc project can be used to copy almost any unencrypted disc. Follow these guidelines for best results:
- Make sure the disc speed and disc format is compatible with your recorder drive.
- If you plan to play your disc in a set-top player, make sure the disc format and speed are compatible with the player.

DVD disc type | Description |
Data DVD | Any mastered data DVD containing UDF, ISO, or Joliet file systems. DVD-R DL discs created using the layer-jump recording technique can be copied. |
DLA DVD | Any DVD created by Drive Letter Access (DLA) 3.5 or later. |
Drag to Disc DVD |
Any DVD created by Drag to Disc 8.2 or later. |
DLA DVD | Any DVD created by Drive Letter Access (DLA) 3.5 or later. |
BD disc type | Description |
Data BD | Any unprotected data BD-R or BD-RE disc. BD-R discs can be copied to BD-R or BD-RE discs. BD-RE discs can be copied to BD-RE and BD-R discs. |
Drag to Disc BD | Any BD created by Drag to Disc 8.2 or later. |
HD disc type | Description |
Data HD | Any unprotected single- or double layer data HD DVD. |
