Known issues

CinePlayer will not launch if SanDisk U3 software is running

To avoid this problem, before you start CinePlayer, choose one of the following actions:

  • In My Computer, select the virtual drive for the SanDisk U3 device, right-click, and choose Eject.
  • Unplug the SanDisk U3 device.
  • Uninstall the SanDisk U3 software.

Title Repeat feature doesn't work for DVDs

When playing DVD titles, the Title Repeat feature does not work.

Subtitles may flicker

You may find that subtitles flicker when playing some DVD titles. This is a known issue that occurs only with some types of video cards.

DVD distortion in Wide Zoom mode with ATI X800 video card

When using the ATI X800 video card, you may experience distortion in the picture if you resize the playback window while in Wide Zoom mode.

CinePlayer may exit if playback mode is changed during DVD playback in Windows Vista

If you are running Windows Vista and have multiple monitors set up, CinePlayer may exit if you change playback mode while playing a DVD. For example, if you switch between single monitor and extended mode while playing a DVD, CinePlayer may exit.

Playback problems with disc images created using Music Disc Creator

CinePlayer may not be able to play back some disc images (.c2d files) created using Music Disc Creator.

BDAV files not supported in this release

When browsing for files in CinePlayer, the browser dialog includes the file extension ".bdav" as one of the file types that you can browse for. BDAV files are not supported in this release.

On Windows Vista with 5.1 speakers, "Center" and "Surround" sound channels aren't heard during DVD playback

On a Windows Vista PC, if you use 5.1 speakers configured for Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound, the "Center" and "Surround" channels may not be audible. This is a known issue with CinePlayer 3.9, which is addressed in a later product release.

Chapter number display is incorrect when changing chapters of -VR disc

When playing a -VR disc, if you click the Next/Previous Chapter button, the chapter number may display incorrectly as "Chapter 255." This is a known issue with CinePlayer 3.9, which is addressed in a later product release.

Cannot change audio settings while playing a VCD/SVCD

When playing a VCD or SVCD, you cannot change the audio settings for L-/R-/Both channel(s). This is a known issue with CinePlayer 3.9, which is addressed in a later product release.

Cannot play slideshow VCD created using a previous version of CinePlayer or Digital Media Experience

CinePlayer 3.9 cannot play slideshow VCDs created using older versions of CinePlayer or Digital Media Experience. This is a known issue with CinePlayer 3.9, which is addressed in a later product release.

Cannot use the Seek bar while playing some DVD titles

The Seek bar (the draggable bar under the playback area of the CinePlayer window) does not always work with some DVD titles. If you press another playback button (for example, Pause or Chapter Skip) the Seek bar will then work normally. This is a known issue with CinePlayer 3.9, which is addressed in a later product release.

Error in the online Help

The online Help states that there are keyboard shortcut controls available for "Custom Reverse Skip" and "Custom Forward Skip" features. However, these features are not available.
